James Brown, Jr., also branded as James Brown “The drummer” is a professional drummer in the DFW area. James was born in Houston, Texas, and at an early age of 5 his parents noticed an endless passion that he possessed for music. Everything that his hands touched was strategically crafted and transformed into the art of drums. While growing up, playing the drums was one of many gifts that were discovered that kept him focused in life and on the right path.

   James Brown began his music career in the late 1990s playing for local artists and concerts throughout the city while developing his artistry. This led to James owning one of the most solid pockets while holding down the 2 and 4 with a little tastefulness. James has shared the stage with artist such as Kim Burrell, Fred Hammond, Ethan Kent, Algebra Blessett, K. Avett, Grammy Award Winner Anthony David, and Stella Award Winner Myron Butler along with many others. His recording resume speaks volumes as he continues to stamp his groove on countless records. James assists in arranging music and gives birth to many hits out of his home studio known as JMusic Production Studio.

  James maintains a steady schedule as a reliable freelance drummer and he possesses what he calls, “The Intangibles.” Whenever in Dallas, James can be found on the drums at Koinonia Christian Church where he is a member.
